Laboratorium FM performs medical laboratory tests for Fundashon Mariadal and other healthcare providers on Bonaire. Your healthcare provider determines which tests are performed.
What do you bring to the blood collection point?
- A fully completed application form with:
- Your full name and date of birth
- The requested determinations, name of the applicant, date and – if necessary – clinical information
- A form of identification (passport, ID or driving licence)
- For children under 12 years of age: the birth certificate or passport and the ID of the parent/guardian
- Own material, if applicable
- Each sample container must be provided with your name, date of birth, gender and the date of collection.
NB: If necessary, the laboratory will provide suitable material and additional information.
Do I need to fast?
If you need to fast for your test, the following applies:
- You may not eat or drink anything from 11:00 PM the evening before the test.
- Only water or tea without sugar/milk is permitted.
- Coffee, milk and other drinks are not permitted.
Fasting tests are possible until 10:30 AM.
Drawing station opening hours
Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
It is usually quieter after 10:00 AM.

When entering through the main entrance of the hospital: Turn left into the hallway. The drawing station is located halfway down the hallway on the right.

Reimbursement and payment
- Are you insured with ZVK (ZJCN)? Then most tests are fully reimbursed.
- Are you not insured with ZVK (ZJCN)? Then you pay in advance at the reception.
Further use of body material
Body material that remains after analysis can be used anonymously for scientific research. It can then no longer be traced back to a person.
Do you object to this?
Please indicate this when collecting the sample. The tubes will then be provided with a label with the text:“Do not use for other purposes.”
Please note: you must indicate this objection again for each sample.
